Dear Families:
Register for classes or services:

The first round college of applications is in. Congratulations to all the students who made the Early Action deadlines! The Fall season was extremely busy, and I'm appreciative of all the referrals I've received from current and past client families. This year, I met with students in more than 25 different high schools, 5 states and spanning 3 continents. I've worked with athletes, performing artists, National Merit Scholars, Eagle Scouts, students with significant learning differences, and chronic medical conditions. I work with students in private, public, parochial, and boarding schools, and many international families. Every student is provided an individual plan based on their academic background, financial resources, special talents, or learning requirements. Together, the students and I have worked on more than 160 different college applications for entry into the class of 2013.
I've been fortunate enough to have been invited to visit many colleges this year, about 26 campuses within the US and the Province of Alberta, Canada. Recruiters were welcomed at my offices, and many took the opportunity to have individuals meetings with students and their parents. In the coming year, I have already been invited to visit campuses in Dublin, South Carolina, Missouri , Montana, and Maine. When I travel, I often sleep in the dorms, attend classes, meet with international and domestic students, and spend significant time with the admissions officers and faculty, and often even College Presidents.
I continue to write and report on educational issues and also on performing arts. Highlights of this year were articles published in J Weekly and the New York Forward. I've been promoted from "regional" reporter at Examiner.com to National College Admissions reporter — so my articles posted online will now be available across the U.S. I will be writing for the URJ Magazine this winter for their Spring publication. This article will be co-written with a Stanford student, focusing on Study Abroad experiences in Europe. I've been invited to speak at the California Association for the Gifted conference in March.
Finally, my brief stay in my beautiful San Mateo office will end in December. The building was sold and I'll be moving just a short distance away to a larger office in the Borel Office Complex at 1777 Borel Place, San Mateo. Students in San Francisco and the East Bay will still be able to come to my San Francisco office in Noe Valley.
I will be working throughout the Holiday Season — so please don't hesitate to give me a call or schedule an appointment.
